Colbh Gàidhlig 14

Tha mi air faighinn a-mach gu bheil am pàipear seo dol a bhith fo smachd cuid eigin eile an ath mhìos, agus bidh mise a’ sgrìobhadh air cuspairean Gàidhealach, no cuspairean a’ bointinn ris a’ Ghàidhlig. Nach agamsa tha an raon farsainn! A’ mhìos seo, bidh mi a-mach air foghlam tro mheadhan na Gàidhlig. Mar a tha mi cinnteach gu bheil fios agaibh fhuair Glaschu £2.75m bhon Riaghaltas airson àrdsgoil Ghàidhlig a chur air bhonn Thàinig Pàdraig Peacock suas a dh’Inbhir Narann a dh’innse na naidheachd do choinneamh Bòrd na Gàidhlig, agus thuirt e gun robh e an dùil gum bitheadh an sgoil ùr na h- ìonad nàiseanta  a bharrachd air dìreach foghlam a thoirt seachad do chloinn a bhios a’ frithealadh Bunsgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu. Tha mi a’ smaointinn gum bi cha mhòr a h-uile neach ann an saoghal na Gàidhlig toilichte mar a tha mi fhèin, agus chan ann a bhith doirbh a tha mi ag ràdh nach e seo ach toiseach tòiseachaidh. Ma bhios sibh cleachdte ri sgoiltean agus foghlam sgoiltean tha mi cinnteach gum bi sibh air thoiseach orm leis na tha mi dol a ràdh, ach tha seachd ceud facal agam a sgrìobhadh is mar sin obraibh còmhla rium!

Is iomadh duine a tha air ràdh rium gum bu chòir àrdsgoiltean Ghàidhlig a bhith againn roimhe, agus barrachd dhiubh. Gu dearbh tha e a’ deanamh cron air foghlam tro mheadhan na Gàidhlig nach eil cothrom aig na sgoilearan anns na h-àrdsgoiltean cumail orra le Gàidhlig gu ìre fhreagarrach. Fìor, ach  tha tòrr obrach romhainn mus bi àrdsgoiltean gu leòr ann. ‘S e an trioblaid ann an àrdsgoiltean gum bi raon farsainn chuspairean ann, agus gu math tric bidh roghainn aig a’ chloinn dè ghabhas iad. Feumaidh iad beurla agus matamataic a chumail orra gus am bi iad tron cheathramh bhliadhna, ach chan fheum iad  mu eisimpleir, eachdraidh a dheanamh. Faodaidh iad cruinn-eòlas no nuadh-eòlas a dheanamh na àite. Faodaidh iad spòrs a dheanamh an àite ciùil, fisics an àite ceimiceachd, agus mar sin air adhart. Fiù ‘s ann an sgoil bheag tha roghainn de sheòrsa air choireigin ann. Chan eil tidsearan ann le Gàidhlig airson a h-uile cuspair anns na h-aonadan an-dràsta; agus chan urrainn dhut tidsear a chur ann an sgoil làn ùine mura bi ach obair clas Gàidhlig ann.

Cuideachd, ged a tha iad bruidhinn an ceartuair air leigeil le tidsearan bunsgoile tighinn a-steach do na h-àrdsgoiltean a theagasg clann sa chiad agus darna bliadhna cha do thachair sin fhathast agus ma gheibh an Scottish Secondary Teachers’ Association an rathad, cha tachair gu bràth. ‘S e an trioblaid leis a’ phlana sin gum feum tidsearan àrdsgoile co-dhiù dà bhliadhna a dheanamh anns na cuspairean aca anns an oilthigh agus teisteanas anns a’ chuspair fhaighinn. Mar as àbhaist cha bhi trèanadh don ìre sin aig tidsearan bungoile ann an aon chuspair; bidh iadsan a’ còmhdachadh mòran chuspairean.

‘S dòcha gum bi sibh smaointinn gum bitheadh e cuideachail don Ghàidhlig nam b’ urrainn do thidsear sam bith aig an robh Gàidhlig a dhol a-staigh do àrdsgoil agus cuspair a thoirt seachad, teisteanas ann no às. Gu ìre, bhitheadh. Ach cha rachadh aig an tidsear sin sgoilearan a theagasg don Ire Choitcheann – chan bhitheamaid ach an duilgheadas a chur dheth fad dà bhliadhna. B’ fheudar don sgoilear an uairsin an cuspair a dheanamh tro mheadhan na Beurla, no a’ leigeil seachad uile gu lèir. Chan eil mòran stuthan ann fhathast anns an àrdsgoil cuideachd.  Dè thachradh mura bitheadh cùrsa ann, no nam bitheadh na leabhraichean a bha ann air an Ruis agus an sgoil a’ teagasg na Gearmailt? Ma bhios sinn a-nis a’ bruidhinn air na leabhraichean Beurla a chleachdadh tha ùine mhòr ann eadar-theangachadh a dheanamh, duilleagan-obrach a chur air dòigh, deuchainnean a sgrìobhadh, agus mar sin air adhart.

Gus am faigh sin tidsearan gu leòr tha e dol a bhith doirbh adhartas a dheanamh anns na sgoiltean. Mar sin, tha fios agaibh dè bu chòir dhuibh deanamh – ionnsaichibh a bhith nar tidsearan. Carson nach eil mise nam cheann-suidhe?
